The 57th Annual Red Cloud Indian Art Show opened on Saturday, June 7th, on a warm sunny day, showcasing 185 pieces from Native artists representing over 25 different tribes.
The event featured twenty-six different awards across multiple categories. Some of the notable awards included:
- Painting, First Place: Gilbert Jumping Eagle, We Are All Related
- Adornment, First Place: Joelle Follows The Road, Geometric Butterfly
- Judge’s Choice: Sina Duta Win, Magazu Kte Seca
- New Artist: Edison Ritchie
An annual award in memory of Br. CM Simon, S.J., the founder of The Heritage Center and the Art Show, was given to Maka Dute Win for Wahpe With My Winyans. This artwork will be used for publicity for the following year’s show.
