Mahpiya Luta students made history on April 8th by hosting our first-ever school robotics competition, participating in the VEX V5RC Robot Axel High Stakes Live Remote Skills Competition. This national and international event allows students to showcase their technical skills through robot building, troubleshooting, and driving challenges — including picking up rings and climbing towers.
Students were divided into Team A and Team B, each demonstrating months of hard work and innovation. The competition is held remotely throughout the school year, connecting schools across the country and around the world.

Theresa Graham (pictured above in the face mask), is one of the Robotics Club sponsors, shared her excitement, “This was the first Mahpiya Luta Robotics Competition — putting us on the map for technology. We’re looking forward to more future competitions. We’re just so proud of the hard work the students put into this!”
With hundreds of teams competing across the U.S. and thousands globally, it will take some time to learn how each of our teams placed. No matter the outcome, Mahpiya Luta is proud to be making a name for itself in technology and STEM education. Congratulations to all our robotics students!
