Maȟpíya Lúta is thrilled to announce the launch of our new website, a significant step towards enhancing family and community user experiences. The Vice President of Communications, Jennifer Irving, highlighted the need for a more user-friendly platform, stating, “Our previous website served us well for as long as it could, but had become a sort of junk drawer of all things. It was massive and was hard to search and find things. More importantly, our school community rarely directed families to that website for information. A website should be one of the biggest communication tools of a school community and to hear school leaders share that they never directed families to the website was eye-opening!”
This substantial undertaking took nearly two years, and basically involved the creation of four distinct websites under one umbrella: the Maȟpíya Lúta organization, the Maȟpíya Lúta Owayawa school district and its four schools, the Holy Rosary Mission and its churches, and The Heritage Center. Each designed with the help of staff to build and drive a better experience for each area’s unique audience.
The Communications Team partnered with Yeeboo, a Canadian company specializing in non-profit website development, ensuring that the website is not only tailored to our unique organization’s needs but also allows for future in-house management by our staff.
Jennifer Irving emphasized the importance of Yeeboo’s understanding of Maȟpíya Lúta’s non-profit status and finite financial resources, ensuring a collaborative and cost-effective approach to the project. The new website will continue to grow over the next year as new pages are built out to highlight more of Mahpiya Luta’s initiatives and departments.
