The 58th Annual Red Cloud Indian Art Show opened on Saturday, June 6, alongside the Grand Opening Celebration of the new Čhatkú Arts Center, welcoming more than 1,000 visitors for a day celebrating Native art, culture, and community.
This year’s exhibition features 218 works of art by 96 artists representing 30 Tribal Nations from across the United States, including 25 first-time artists. The exhibition also recognized artistic excellence with 26 awards presented across multiple categories.
Notable award recipients included:
Division I, Painting – First Place: Keith Braveheart, Sung Wapiyapi
Adornment – First Place: Amy Deer, Rose Necklace
Dwayne Wilcox’s Kuciyela earned three prestigious honors: Division VI – Three Dimensional, Founder’s Award, and Judge’s Choice Award.
New Artist Award: Baylie Her Many Horses
The Br. C.M. Simon, S.J. Memorial Award, presented annually in honor of the founder of The Heritage Center and the Red Cloud Indian Art Show, was awarded to Molina Two Bulls for Lakota Skies. The selected artwork will serve as the featured image promoting the 59th Annual Red Cloud Indian Art Show.
